Eid Mubarak

“Happy Eid”. Eid is upon us. There are two Eid’s and this one is the most religiously significant as this is when people make the Hajj a religious journey to Mecca. So it is a holiday in the Muslim world. Numbers are limited regarding who can actually go on the Hajj. I think each country is allocated a certain number of places and every Muslim should aim to make the trip at least once in their life if they have the financial means to do so. It is a holiday break for nearly all of us. A small group of my Aussie mates are having to work through which is really unfortunate for them. This is in part because their contract finishes shortly. Keren took Anne and Carla out to the airport at some crazy time this morning as they are heading to the big apple for a week. The queue was apparently a long winding snake..and that was just on the outside let alone inside. I’m here for a few days and am jumping on a plane to Turkey for my Eid break. Going solo and doing the classic kiwi trip to Gallipoli.
